C++ Software Engineer (United States)


Our team has the mission to design and develop a massively scalable, multi-tenant aware and extremely fast data management engine. We are at the very beginning of the project phase, still in research mode. Our goal is to expand from a research prototype to a productive version of the engine. In this process we will make use of the newest technology stacks and cooperation possibilities with universities and research institutes.

We are looking for C++-developers to bring their talents to the SAP HANA Research & Development team.


As a developer in the SAP HANA Research & Development team you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues.

You will need to:

  • Identify relevant technology trends and drive education in related domains
  • Write meticulous software implementations throughout the whole software stack
  • Perform code reviews and audits to spot opportunities for improvements with respect to usability, testability, supportability, or potential performance penalties
  • Write regression tests for your own code using different programming languages (e.g. C++, Python, SQL) and testing frameworks (e.g. Google C++ Testing Framework)
  • Be able to multiply your skills by actively mentoring other resources within the team

Your tasks will include developing new concepts in the following areas:

The database team is located in St. Leon-Rot“ Dresden“ India and Mexico. Beside administration we implement new technologies in the lifecycle management of databases. Driving continuous improvement is our main focus to increase operation effectiveness“ availability and efficiency. Automation“ infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important part driven by the DB Platform teams. We are looking for a IT Associate Technology Consultant (m/f) as Database Administrator to join the 7×24 shift worker team with a technical background for supporting the database administration in the area internal business & support systems.

As IT Associate Technology Consultant (DBA) you are responsible for:

  • Ticket processing and coordination of Service Requests
  • Alert handling“ documentation and removal of errors in OS and Database environments
